Dieser Ford Escort RS WRC hat Carlos Pinho für das Eifel Rallye Festival neu aufbauen lassen und gab ihm die Lackierung der Portugal Rallye von 1997.

Nach zwei Jahren bei Subaru wechselte Carlos Sainz für das Jahr 1996 zu Ford und fuhr den Gruppe A-Escort. Rechtzeitig zur Rallye Monte-Carlo 1997 war der Escort WRC fertig und Carlos fuhr ihn gleich auf einen schönen zweiten Platz. Bei der Portugal Rallye schied er mit einem Schaden am Antrieb vorzeitig aus.

Carlos Pinho had this Ford Escort RS WRC rebuilt for the Eifel Rallye Festival and gave it the livery from the 1997 Portugal Rally.

After two years with Subaru, Carlos Sainz switched to Ford for 1996 and drove the Group A Escort. The Escort WRC was ready in time for the 1997 Monte Carlo Rally, and Carlos immediately drove it to a fine second place. He retired early from the Portugal Rally with damage to the drive train.

Après deux ans chez Subaru, Carlos Sainz est passé chez Ford en 1996 et a piloté l’Escort du groupe A. L’Escort WRC était prête juste à temps pour le Rallye de Monte-Carlo 1997 et Carlos a immédiatement décroché une belle deuxième place. Lors du Rallye du Portugal, il a dû abandonner prématurément en raison d’un problème de transmission.
