Diese BMW 2002 entstand während der Corona-Krise als Nachbau des 1972 eingesetzten Gruppe 2 Rallyewerkswagens der Olympia Rallye. Dieser BMW wurde bei Arwed Hafner in Bad Aibling, einem der anerkanntesten BMW-Experten, auf Basis einer abgestrippten Rohkarosse komplett neu aufgebaut und immer mit der Devise: so nah am Original wie möglich. Der blaue Farbton ist daher auch matt gewählt. Beim Tony Fall Auto von 1972 waren übrigens die Farben des rot-grünen Castrol-Streifens vertauscht und auch die englische Flagge bei den Fahrernamen in den falschen Farben, und genau so sind sie jetzt auch auf diesem BMW. Die Besonderheit am Rande: dieser BMW trägt exakt die Autonummer wie damals: M-WH 1972

Mit dem BMW 2002 Ti mit dem Kennzeichen M-WH 1792 fuhren Tony Fall und Mike Wood bei der Olympia Rallye 1972 sieben Bestzeiten und lagen bis zu ihrem technischen Ausfall auf Gesamtrang 3. Achim Warmbold gewann übrigens mit M-WH 1792 die Portugal-Rallye 1972 und Reinhard Hainbach siegte im selben Jahr und Auto bei der Rallye Trifels, Bavaria und Hugenotten.

This BMW 2002 was created during the Corona crisis as a copy of the 1972 Group 2 rally works car used in the Olympia Rally. This BMW was completely rebuilt at Arwed Hafner in Bad Aibling, one of the most renowned BMW experts, on the basis of a stripped bodyshell and always with the motto: as close to the original as possible. The blue colour is therefore also chosen in matt. Incidentally, on the 1972 Tony Fall car, the colours of the red and green Castrol stripe were reversed and the English flag was also in the wrong colours close to the drivers’ names on the side of the bonnet, and that’s exactly how they are now. By the way, this BMW has exactly the same number plate as back then: M-WH 1972.

With the BMW 2002 Ti and its registration number M-WH 1792, Tony Fall and Mike Wood set seven best times at the 1972 Olympia Rally in Germany and were in third place overall when they retired with technical issues. Incidentally, Achim Warmbold won the 1972 Portugal Rally with M-WH 1792 and Reinhard Hainbach won the Trifels, Bavaria and Hugenotten Rally in the same year and car.

Cette BMW 2002 a été reconstruite pendant la crise du Corona en copie de la voiture d’Usine 1972 groupe 2 utilisée lors du rallye Olympia. Cette reconstruction a été entièrement faite chez Arwed Hafner à Bad Aibling, l’un des experts BMW les plus renommés, sur la base d’une carrosserie mise à nu et toujours avec la devise : aussi proche de l’original que possible. La couleur bleue a donc également été choisie en mat. Soit dit en passant, sur la voiture de Tony Fall de 1972, les couleurs de la bande Castrol rouge et verte étaient inversées et le drapeau anglais était également aux mauvaises couleurs près des noms des pilotes sur le côté du capot, et c’est exactement ce qu’il en est aujourd’hui. D’ailleurs, cette BMW porte exactement la même plaque d’immatriculation qu’à l’époque : M-WH 1972.

Avec la BMW 2002 Ti immatriculée M-WH 1792, Tony Fall et Mike Wood ont réalisé sept meilleurs temps au Rallye Olympia 1972 en Allemagne et occupaient la troisième place au classement général lorsqu’ils ont abandonné pour des raisons techniques. Par ailleurs, Achim Warmbold a remporté le Rallye du Portugal 1972 avec M-WH 1792 et Reinhard Hainbach a remporté le Rallye Trifels, de Bavière et Hugenotten cette même année et avec la même voiture.
